The City of Manistee will begin its Yard Waste Collection Program on April 6, 2010.

City residents may put grass clippings and leaves in biodegradable bags and place at the curb. City crews will pick bags up every Tuesday beginning April 6, 2010. Please place bags out by 7:00 a.m. The City asks Residents to fill these bags no more than 3/4 full or 40 lb. limit. Yard waste bags are available for City of Manistee residents ONLY. We also remind residents that there will be a dumpster located at the City Garage for their use to dispose of bags. There is no cost for the “Yard Waste Dumpster.” This program will run from Spring through Fall of 2010. The yard waste bags can be picked up Monday through Friday at City Hall, 70 Maple Street. Cost per pack of 10 is $ 3.00. The bags are also available at Oleson’s’s Food Store, 160 Memorial Drive, Manistee.
