Demolition crews began removal of the mansard roof that is was added to the building. This revealed the original balustrade that has not been seen for over a quarter of a century. Pictures were taken of the south side of the building where removal had already been completed. These pictures show the beautiful details that were an original feature of the building when it was constructed in the early 1900's.
Renovation plans for the roof of City Hall include the removal of the old mansard roof, removal of the antenna, repairs to the balustrade (as needed), and installation of a new roof. A dormer will be installed on the West side of the building with ten windows that will allow natural lighting into the former attic which will become the new home of the Council Chambers.
